The Smithfield Street Bridge is a lenticular truss bridge which crosses the Monongahela River between downtown Pittsburgh & Shoppes at Station Square. The bridge was designed by Gustav Lindenthal, who also designed the Hell Gate Bridge and was built between 1881-83. The second bridge model was designed by John A. Roebling who famously designed the Brooklyn Bridge. It is a National Historic Civic Engineering Landmark.
