He was originally named Cassius Clay until he changed his name to Muhammad Ali after joining the Nation of Islam in 1964. Ali was involved in several historic boxing matches and went on to become the first and only 3x linear world heavyweight champion. At the age of eighteen, Ali won the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. During his professional boxing career, Ali fought in sixty-one boxing matches with fifty-six wins, thirty-seven which were the result of knockouts to his opponents. In 1999, Ali was crowned Sportsman of the Century by Sports Illustrated. Since his retirement, Muhammad Ali has devoted himself to humanitarian endeavors around the world and in 2005 was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. |

Jesse Owens - Jesse Owens, known as ‘The Buckeye Bullet’ was an African-American track & field athlete and one of the greatest sports icons of the 20th century. Owens achieved international fame the world over by winning four gold medals at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. He became the most successful athlete of the Olympics that year and inspired many people. His victories were even more poignant because Adolf Hitler had intended the Olympics in Berlin to showcase his Aryan ideals and prowess. Jesse Owens was garnered with awards and accolades throughout his lifetime including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1976 and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1990. I portrayed Owens in this colorful digital illustration wearing his USA jersey with the Brandenburg Gate in the background which is a notable landmark in Berlin.

| Green Bay Packers – Just as Yankee Stadium is known as the ‘Cathedral of Baseball’ the same can be shared for what Lambeau Field is to football. Lambeau Field is the home of the NFL Green Bay Packers and opened its gates in 1957. The field was named for long-time head coach, Curly Lambeau of the Packers. It was the first modern stadium built for an NFL franchise. Before that, all NFL teams shared their playing location with their city’s MLB team or at a pre-existing shared facility. This illustration features the famous Lambeau Field with the Green Bay Packers three legendary quarterbacks, Brett Favre, Bart Starr & the up and coming superstar, Aaron Rodgers. |

| "Winning Isn’t Everything" – I created this illustration as a reflection of my father & I and a tribute to fathers and sons in sports. It’s the early lessons & teachings in sports that stick with us that can be applied throughout our growing lives. That message is that ‘winning isn’t everything’, be the best you can be & give it your all, that’s all anyone can ask of you. |

| Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio – Joe DiMaggio, nicknamed “Joltin’ Joe” & “The Yankee Clipper” was one of the greatest baseball players in Major League Baseball history. Dimaggio was a MLB center fielder who spent his entire thirteen year career with the New York Yankees. During his career with the Yankees they won ten American League pennants and nine World Series championships and DiMaggio was selected a 3x MVP. DiMaggio is best known for his 56-game hitting streak in the early Summer, 1941 (record which still stands and likely will never be broken). He is among seventeen New York Yankees baseball players to have his number (#5) retired, which occurred on April 18, 1952. DiMaggio was elected to the MLB All-Century Team and into the MLB Hall of Fame in 1955. For this illustration I used a newspaper print filter to get it to resemble the old baseball uniforms of the Golden Age of baseball. |

| Pittsburgh Sports Broadcasting Legends: Bob Prince, Myron Cope & Mike Lange – Illustration I created honoring three of Pittsburgh’s sports cultural icons. Here in my hometown of Pittsburgh, we are a huge sports town. Win or lose, we love our Steelers, Penguins & Pirates. It’s the only city where all three professional sports teams share the same uniform colors, thus giving meaning to "We Are Family!" Pittsburgh is one of, if not the only city with a museum dedicated solely to its sports history.
We have witnessed some indelible sports memories in the ‘Steel City’ and the greatest legends of baseball, football & hockey. These three broadcasting legends, with their colorful catchphrases & stories were and have been enthralling fans of the black & gold, both young & old for generations. The broadcasting legends from left to right feature the late Bob Prince & Myron Cope & the Penguins current radio broadcaster, Mike Lange.
Bob Prince, known as "The Gunner" was the voice of the Pirates from 1948-75. Myron Cope was the nucleus of the Pittsburgh Steelers & beloved by fans. He served as the voice of the Steelers from 1970-2005 and invented the idea for the Terrible Towel. It is the best known fan symbol in any major pro sports organization. Mike Lange served as the Penguins play-by-play announcer from 1975-2006.

| "Hoop Dreams" Aside from football, basketball was and still is one of my favorite sports. This illustration is titled "Hoop Dreams" and features the three basketball stars I grew up with and emulated. I was a big fan of the Boston Celtics with the likes of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge & Robert Parish. During the 80′s there was an intense NBA rivalry between the Celtics & Lakers with each organization winning multiple championships. Then of course there was Michael ‘Air’ Jordan and everyone wanted to be like Mike with his signature moves and enthralling slam dunks. |
