Personalized Art
Featured in this gallery is my growing collection of commissioned fine art digital illustrations and graphics. I became interested in this form of multimedia art in the summer of 2011 through the detailed graphics work of a few fellow artists. Digital art is a range of artistic works and features which use digital technology as the essential part of the creative process. This modern art form involves creating various layers with a multitude of tools and filters which come together to create the graphics presented in immaculate colorful detail. Through countless hours of experimentation and self-discipline I have allowed my artwork to progress to another level I had never even imagined. The new artwork which is only in its infancy has grown to include many art genres, mediums and subjects. The digital art I have created features Americana folk art, automotive art, collegiate art, custom pet portraits, military art, music art, lighthouse art, sports art, nautical art, Steelers art and western art.
The signed digital art will be produced only for the original commissioner.
| Here is another personalized digital illustration that was presented as a Christmas gift in remembrance of a loved one. I thought it would be a creative idea to feature an illustration of the father who was an avid recreational boater into the ship’s wheel. He found solitude and peace through boating and enjoyed Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, Myrtle Beach and the marinas of the eastern seaboard. In the background is featured a vintage nautical map of the Atlantic Ocean filtered with a sunrise off of Myrtle Beach. To the left was his favorite lighthouse, Cape Hatteras with various scenes of the beach spread throughout the illustration. | |||

Featured here is my third personalized commissioned request for a special birthday present for a Vietnam veteran. Mr. Fred Fattore was a soldier with the Black Scarves battalion of the famous ‘Big Red One’ during the Vietnam War. Aside from this commissioned piece which I created for Mr. Fattore, I included a collection of artist proofs to be given to his fellow comrades for their battalion’s scheduled reunion in the Spring, 2012. On 30 April 1966 in a sweep through the village of Lo Go, the 1st Battalion was engaged in heavy fighting and it was during this time that a large quantity of black cloth was captured. This cloth was used by the Viet Cong to make their “Black Pajama” uniforms. At the direction of battalion commander, LTC Richard Prillaman, this cloth was made into scarves to be worn by the battalion’s soldiers. LTC Prillaman wanted to be able to distinguish his battalion from other division soldiers and to provide the soldiers with something more appropriate than the towels the men were wearing around their necks. It is from this that the battalion has as its nickname “Black Scarves”. The printing on the scarves was a different color for each company: HHC, yellow, Company A, red, Company B, white, Company C, blue and Company D, green. |
