| Cape Hatteras Lighthouse – The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, known as the ‘Sentinel of the Shoals’ is one of America’s most recognized lighthouses located on the North Carolina coastline. It has served as a beacon of light for seafarers at sea throughout its storied history. Upon completion of this digital painting it reminded me of one of Thomas Kinkade’s painting of light masterpieces. | |||||||||||

Tybee Island Light – Tybee Island Light is a lighthouse located on Tybee Island, east of Savannah, Georgia at the mouth of the Savannah River. It is only one of a handful of 18th century lighthouses still in operation in North America. The original lighthouse was completed in 1736 and stood 90 feet tall making it the highest structure in colonial America at the time. The lighthouse has gone through four changes in design throughout its lifetime. The first three versions of the lighthouse were destroyed by coastal storms and at the hands of Confederate troops during the American Civil War. In 1886, the light lens was broken during the Charleston earthquake. The latest incarnation of the lighthouse stands at 154 feet and is a popular tourist attraction.
